What my friends say about me?

Last term room 19 stuck pieces of paper to their backs and had to think of something positive and write stuff on other people’s back. Everyone in room 19 had to join in and write something positive about another person. It was fun and all but when we had finished we looked what people had written on our backs. I was surprised that not that much people had written anything on my back.

(Cool) Some people in my class were writing on my back I was cool I didn’t know how I was cool but I thought it was a good thing if had written something like you are a cool on someone elses back. I started thinking “hey I might be a pretty cool friend If someone had written I am cool”. We were all looking out our papers and most of us were making funny facials i knew some people had written something weird or funny.

(Skuxx) Oh god I was knowing someone was going to write something like I am skuxx I was Annoyed because a lot of people had written I am skuxx it was mostly skuxx all over the page I could not believe it. I was still surprised that other students of my class had commented on my piece of paper I was really happy.

(Helpful) I was like “WOW” 1 person out of the whole class said I am helpful. I didn’t know I was helpful but suddenly I am helpful it made me proud to know I am helpful. People don’t usually say nice stuff about me but I was wrong people do think nice stuff about me like im helpful.

Mini Triathlon

It was an awesome day yesterday. My class (Room 19 & Room 9) were going to a mini triathlon on the field, and there are 4 men and Room 9 there waiting for us in the transition. The water slide looked fun and I could not wait to go on the bikes and ride pass people and overtake them, the run also looked exciting and easy I was hoping the boys would go first. Then 1 of the guys said room 9 girls go to the slide I was disappointed that my friends and I didn’t get to go first, but I knew that room 19 boys were going to have their turns soon.

Soon after the room 9 boy and room 19 girls it was the room 19’s boys and my turn I was ready and steady to go then 1 of the men said “GO” in a loud and clear voice. All the boys went flying off the starting line and went into a superman onto the waterslide, they were all trying to win the mini triathlon. Then I went and went straight under richard I was hoping he didn’t fall on me, so I stood up and had to go another 3 laps on the water slide. It was fun on the waterslide because i kept bumping into people and some of them even fell over. I was on my last lap and slid into roman I almost made him fall and then most people were on their bikes and off they went.

The room 19 boys were all on the bikes and a lot of the boys were riding the bikes really fast around the field I wouldn’t be able to beat them if they were already half way around the field. I thought that was pretty fast so I turned it up to 3 gear Pedaled as fast as I could to catch up to mosa in the front. I would never catch mosa or anyone else in front of me so I gave it a try anyway. I pedaled as hard as could and caught up to 3 people. I was almost at the transition then I pulled my other leg over to the other side of the bike and jumped and ran the bike in to the transition, I knew if I tried I might of been able to catch up to some people and overtake them.

So I quickly stood my bike up and then put down my helmet then I sprinted as fast as I could but mosa had already made it with another couple of people, Like Anthony and Kitiona passed me I was getting tired so I used the rest of my energy to pass Kori lee and Howard. I was almost at the finish then jonathan passed me I was going to sprint up to him but he sprinted really fast I knew I couldn’t catch him so I ran to stay in front of the people I overtook. We all had a good time but it was time to finish so we all sat down and said thank you to the 4 men and then we went  back to class.

Picking harakeke/Flax

It was a beautiful and room and and a small amount of room 21 were going over to Omaru creek to pick some harakeke/Flax to make some putiputi/flowers. It was going to be a fun period of time and everyone was having a good time, then the tarpolines down on the ground then everybody got a ruler.

We were all ready and waiting to pick our harakeke but first Ms T had to tell us what the instructions were and what flax we could and and couldn't pick, also you are not allowed to cut harakeke in the rain or at night because the plant will die. I was waiting for Ms T to finish her talking so I could get my flax and start weaving with my friends. When I get my harakeke I will sit down and start weaving through it and show my friends how its done.

So Ms T stopped talking and I went with my friend Nathanial and Jonathan, then we got our pieces of flax so went back to the tarpoline sat down and waited for everyone to pick their harakeke. The people that picked their flax were listening to Ms T on how to work on our harakeke.

Tuakana/Teina

Kia ora my name is Silas Davey im 12 years old and I am a student of room 19 ms Tito's class. This year at Pt England school, room 19’s teacher miss Tito had decided to help room 9 to improve their reading skills. My class room 19 and room 9, go to the library every Tuesday to do reading. This thing that we called it is Tuakana/Teina it means bigger sister or brother/younger brother or sister. We have to pair up with a Teina from room 9 and have turns at reading books to each other.

School Picnic

It was a perfect day for the beach but the weather was overcast, to bad it wasn't sunny I was really looking forward for a sunny day. Then the whole school went to the hall for a quick meeting before we did anything at the beach. Mr Burt just went over a few rules then we were off for a fun day.

(Swimming) I could tell it was going to be a fun day so I waited for swimming to start by playing with my friends in the sand and building sand sculptures over them and make them into sand sculptures of any sort. Then team 5 time for swimming I was pshyced I got changed and quickly ran down to the water. Before I got down to the beach most of the team five was already in the water and bombing off the rocks.

(Lunch) It was also fun in the water but it was time to get out I went into the changing room and changed back into my normal school uniform then I raced my friend to our bags. I won the race and was really hungry so I got my lunch and then ate pretty much most of it. I was so hungry when I got out of the water. I hadn't of eaten anything  all day so I munched back at my lunch and then I ate my filled roll. It was a very delicious lunch and I enjoyed it.
